The Kansas Paralegal Association is hosting a CLE Lunch-N-Learn through Zoom on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm CST.


TOPIC OVERVIEW: Our guest speaker, Jennifer Wieland, partner at Berkowitz Oliver LLP will presenting the topic Celebrity Trials: Lessons Learned from Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard.

SPEAKER BIO:

Jennifer Wieland is a partner at Berkowitz Oliver LLP in Kansas City, MO. She earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia. She served as a federal law clerk in the Central District of California in Los Angeles, CA, and worked as an associate at Latham & Watkins in Orange County, CA, before settling in Kansas City. Her practice focuses on handling complex civil litigation for businesses and individual clients. Her practice is primarily in federal court, where she focuses on class actions, commercial disputes, and employment and intellectual property matters. She represents clients from all sectors, including the financial services, higher education, and automotive industries, from small, local businesses to Fortune 500 companies.

Jennifer is also qualified as a Missouri mediator and was selected for inclusion on the Western District of Missouri’s Mediation and Assessment Program’s newly created list of Category II Neutrals, effective August 1, 2023. Jennifer is currently serving a three-year term on the District of Kansas’ Bench-Bar Committee, and she was named a Pro Bono Champion in April 2022 for her work on veteran discharge upgrades through KCMBA’s Military Matters program.
