The Kansas Paralegal Association is hosting a CLE webinar through Zoom on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 12pm to 1pm over ethics of working remotely and virtually.
TOPIC OVERVIEW: Our guest speaker, Danielle Hall with KALAP, will provide attendees an overview the ethics of working remotely and virtually.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: As we all have settled into the new normal of working in a virtual environment, it is important to take a closer look at the unique ethical obligations created by working remotely. During this session, we will discuss the risks associated with remote work, as well as ethical pitfalls and how to avoid them. Attendees will learn best practices for remaining diligent in a remote environment, as well as how to maintain competency and confidentiality. The presenter will also discuss how we begin to balance our use of technology in this virtual environment.
SPEAKER BIO: Danielle Hall serves as the Executive Director for the Kansas Lawyers Assistance Program. In addition to overseeing the daily operations, she administers a variety of programs designed to assist lawyers and law students who are impacted by a substance abuse, mental health, or law practice management related issue. Prior to her appointment in 2019, Danielle served as a Deputy Disciplinary Administrator for the State of Kansas where she investigated and prosecuted disciplinary cases before the Kansas Supreme Court and served as a coordinator for the Attorney Diversion Program. As part of coordinating the Attorney Diversion Program, her primary focus was in providing lawyers with assistance and training in law practice management and technology. Danielle regularly teaches continuing legal education on many topics including well-being, substance abuse, ethics, law practice management, and technology use in the law practice. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Kansas Lawyer Well-Being Task Force and is Chair of the Topeka Bar Association Technology Committee, Co-Chair of the Minority Women in the Profession Committee for the Kansas Women Attorneys Association, and a regular contributor to the Kansas Bar Association Law Practice Management and Technology Blog. Danielle received a B.A. degree in Political Science in 2006 and a J.D. in 2009, both from Washburn.
